From Luz de Alba, we would like to congratulate chef José Francisco Atienza Matas on his well-deserved First Prize in the 2019 National Purple Garlic Cooking Competition of Las Pedroñeras. José Francisco, a chef from Tarancón, a town in the province of Cuenca, prevailed over the other participants with an exquisite dish that held a very special secret: our organic olive oil, Luz de Alba Organic Picual EVOO.
Luz de Alba Organic Olive Oil to enhance the exquisite flavor of garlic
José Francisco Atienza won the First Prize in this renowned cooking competition, featuring purple garlic as the main ingredient, thanks to his exquisite dish ‘Gyoza de ajoarriero with cod porridge, dehydrated garlic meringue, cod gel, saffron garlic oil, and Luz de Alba olive oil cream.’ The following image shows the final result. It’s a shame the photo only allows us to see the visual outcome! The flavor was truly exquisite!

In this 11th edition of the National Purple Garlic Cooking Competition of Las Pedroñeras, a total of seven professional chefs competed for the First Prize, but it was ultimately José Francisco Atienza who captivated the jury’s palate. And from our company, specializing in the commercialization of gourmet olive oil, we are very proud that one of our star products was part of the winning recipe. This competition is held within the framework of the International Garlic Fair, where chefs from all over Spain gathered last Sunday, July 28, to find out who would finally be the winner of this prestigious award.
Finally, we show you an image of the winner with his award. We wish to reiterate our congratulations to the winner and express our gratitude for the trust placed in our gourmet product. If you wish to purchase our gourmet olive oil, please visit our online store.
